The Winter Diet
The cold damp winter season has arrived. In Chinese Medicine we equate "catching a cold" as exactly that. When cold invades our body we feel chilled, have a runny nose and often a headache. We also have an aversion to going outside and to be in the cold and the wind.
Acupuncture and Chinese herbs help to drive out the cold and phlegm easily.
There are foods on your shelf at home that drive out the cold by their warming and pungent nature.
Here is the list:
SWEET POTATO
TURNIP
ONION
SHRIMP
NUTMEG
CHICKEN
SQUASH
MUTTON
CAPERS
GINGER
GARLIC
COCONUT MILK
There are many more foods to add to the list . Call for an appointment at 604-264-9921. Carla Wiseman often incorporates food cures into the homecare.
